2016 Ageing & Retirement Expo Wrap-up
The Bush & Campbell Financial Services Ageing & Retirement Expo welcomed a large number of visitors to the Rules Club on Friday 18th November.
This year, more than 30 exhibitors provided information and advice on all facets of ageing, retirement and planning for the future.
The expo was officially opened by the Federal Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack.
Presenters on the day included The Forrest Centre, Centrelink, Walsh & Blair Lawyers and Bush & Campbell Financial Services.
Important information dispensed throughout the day provided hundreds of retirees and their family members with great advice and guidance.
Here are some major points we would like to highlight:
The fee structure around permanent residential aged care is complex. There is a lot of information available, but it can be difficult to determine how it applies to your personal circumstances.
Knowing your financial goals, what’s important to you and your estate planning requests are also important to help decide how best to fund aged care costs.
Having your affairs in order and important documentation such as Power of Attorney, Wills etc help you review your situation and make decisions for the future.
Communication between family members and friends about your wishes is vital.
Knowing and engaging in other services is important as we get older, whether it is moving to a retirement village or home care services or finding ways to keep active and social is also important.
Having a trusted adviser to assist and ensure these issues are discussed and documented at the appropriate time.
Thank you to our Major Sponsors for their valuable support:
